Poker Pros in Las Vegas for 2014 World Series of Poker

Sun, 22 Jun 2014

Most of the top poker pros are in Las Vegas for the 2014 World Series of Poker. The biggest events of the year take place in Vegas at the WSOP and anyone of note who is a poker professional is in Las Vegas. There will be a lot of things to watch at the 2014 World Series of Poker and some poker pros to keep an eye on.

Poker pro Daniel Negreanu won the WSOP Player of the Year Award last year and he will be looking to repeat. No one has ever come remotely close to repeating as WSOP Player of the Year so Negreanu has his work cut out for him.

More poker pros will be playing this year in the 2014 World Series of Poker because there are more $10,000 buy-in events. There are 14 more big events than a year ago. This year will also mark the return of the Big One for One Drop event. The $1 million dollar buy-in event debuted in 2012 but it was not held last year. There will be 56 players overall in this year’s field. That tournament begins on June 29th and will run three days. The 2014 Main event begins on July 5th and runs through July 14th when the November Nine will be determined.

The first winner at the 2014 World Series of Poker was Roland Reparejo who won the $500 Casino Employees No-Limit Hold’em event as he defeated a field of 876 players.
