Poker Pro Phil Ivey Starting a Training Website

Wed, 20 Feb 2013

Professional poker player Phil Ivey has announced that he is starting a new website that will offer poker training for aspiring players. A number of top poker professionals have already signed up to represent the site as pros and instructors. Some of the big names are Patrik Antonius, Jennifer Harmon, Dan Smith and Greg Merson.

Many people consider Phil Ivey the top professional poker in the world so the announcement that he is starting a training site is big news. Ivey has said that he and other team members will be working with other players giving tips and advice through videos and other methods. Ivey recently said in an interview with ESPN that he wants to teach players to play better poker. “I want to teach the world how to play better poker.” Ivey said in his ESPN interview, “I feel like there’s a big hole in the poker community. I speak with people all the time about poker, and people say they’d love to learn how to play but they don’t know where to start. It’d be nice to teach people how to play the correct way.”

It will be interesting to see how Ivey does with his new website. There are already a number of poker websites available for players to learn the game of poker but there is no question that Ivey will have the most name recognition. His site was expected to be up and running by February of this year.
