July 20, 2014 - The 2014 World Series of Poker $50,000 Poker Players Championship was won by poker pro John Hennigan. The tournament, considered the most important each year to poker professionals, featured 102 players that put up the $50,000 entry fee. That meant the first place prize was more than $1.5 million dollars. Hennigan was able to take the title and get the WSOP gold bracelet. Hennigan has been very successful in the Poker Players Championship through the years and this was his second straight year making the final table as he finished third last year.

May 22, 2014 - The first two-time champion on the European Poker Tour is Vicky Coren Mitchell. She won the 2006 EPT London and she recently won her second event, the 2014 EPT event in Sanremo Italy. She beat a field of 556 players to win the $657,780 first place prize. She is the first player in ten years of the European Poker Tour to win two main event titles.
