January 12, 2015 - The last big poker tournament of 2014 was won by poker professional Mohsin Charania who took the title at the World Poker Tour Five Diamond Poker Classic. Charania won more almost $1.5 million as he topped a field of 626 players in the $10,400 buy-in event.
January 12, 2015 - Poker professional Andrew Lichtenberger won the WPT Alpha8 Las Vegas event that had a buy-in of $100,000. A total of 55 players put the up big entry fee which meant a prize pool of more than $5 million dollars. Lichtenberger was able to defeat the strong field and take home the first place prize of more than $2.1 million dollars.

November 19, 2014 - The days of poker pros being sponsored by online poker sites are dwindling. Many poker sites have ended their sponsorship arrangements with poker professionals. August 21, 2014 - The biggest winner at the 2014 World Series of Poker was poker pro Daniel Colman who took home the $15.3 million dollar first place prize in the $1 million buy-in Big One for One Drop event. The event debuted in 2012 when Antonio Esfandiari won the tournament but it was not held last year. This year a total of 42 players entered the event which meant a prize pool of more than $37 million dollars after money was taken out for the One Drop charity.
July 20, 2014 - The 2014 World Series of Poker $50,000 Poker Players Championship was won by poker pro John Hennigan. The tournament, considered the most important each year to poker professionals, featured 102 players that put up the $50,000 entry fee. That meant the first place prize was more than $1.5 million dollars. Hennigan was able to take the title and get the WSOP gold bracelet. Hennigan has been very successful in the Poker Players Championship through the years and this was his second straight year making the final table as he finished third last year.
