Poker Pros Going to Local Cardrooms

Many poker pros are taking the step from online poker rooms to public cardrooms to get more action. While the poker game is the same, the atmosphere and the opposing players are not.

Even poker pros have to get used to the game being different in a local cardroom. With online poker there are a multitude of choices but in a local cardroom that is not always the case. Patience is something that most poker pros don’t have and it is something they must learn as they go from the online poker world to the in-person cardroom. When poker pros first go to a local cardroom they are going to see many tables with a lot of people playing poker. Usually there is a board that lists the available games, limits, and names. Players put their name on the list under the game they want to play. If there is a seat available immediately then the poker pro gets into action right away.

Even a poker pro can be a little nervous playing in a cardroom for the first time. That is natural but the good players will adapt and adjust. There are some differences like fewer hands per hour, more tells, tighter play and less overall action, but professional poker players have the ability to learn and adjust. It is not always easy for the poker pro going from an online poker room to a local cardroom but more and more of them are making the transition.
