Professional Poker Success Comes With Mastering Big Slick

More professional poker players have blown up their bankrolls by falling in love with “Big Slick” than with any other hand in the game. When Big Slick shows up in a suit it only makes players hearts double in breathtaking excitement. There are fewer pocket hands that look better and fewer still that produce worse results.

If you are new to poker and aspire to a future professional career Big Slick is when you are dealt an Ace-King for hole cards. Big Slick in a suit would be if he arrived wearing diamonds, for example.

Big Slick has taken on a new meaning; in fact, some rather derogatory terms are now being used for this hole card hand as through the years many of the best professional poker players have been humbled by their inability to produce with Big Slick.

Too many players have an “All In” reaction with Big Slick and end up blowing their entire chip stacks. Sure, only an Ace-Ace is a better hole card deal, but remember that it is also two cards out of five. Unfortunately many aspiring professional poker players do not keep that in mind and that is why they are continuing to aspire rather than to actually be playing professionally.

While many old school professionals will still argue that you should be aggressive with Big Slick a newer wiser clique now says that it is a hand that should be handled with extreme care. Big Slick is a great start with no guarantee of a winning finish and should be treated as such!
