When you are playing online poker it won’t take you long to figure out which player is the table leader. Sometimes that player will be a professional poker player. The leader of a poker table is the player who is dominant with his aggressive poker bets and his unpredictable nature. The leader of the table will be easy to pick out because oftentimes he makes money. It is not very often that a player will be at the table and exerting influence if he doesn’t win.

Professional poker players are not afraid to bring pocket poker hands such as J-10, 9-8, suited connectors or just plain garbage into a pot because they know how to control a table. These professional poker players dictate the pace and flow of the poker game at the table and force everyone else to follow.

As you observe professional poker players, don’t mistake the fact that sometimes aggressive poker players will have to fold inferior poker hands in the face of obviously superior poker hands. Just because a leader is aggressive doesn’t mean he has to be stupid. Professional poker players make money for a reason.

If you want to be a professional poker player you need to play aggressive poker tempered with intelligence. That is the mark of a professional poker player.
