Professional Poker Goals

Online poker has made the game of poker itself the most popular form of gambling in the world. With that being said this has led hundreds of thousands, if not millions of players, to share the same dream and goal; which is to “go pro” and make a living at playing cards. While there has never been a more opportune time to attempt a career at professional poker there has never been such fierce competition. So how can a player set himself apart from the masses of asses and be in the elite one-percent or so of players that actually make a living by playing poker? To stand apart you must separate yourself and, yes, stand apart!

Nobody is going to “go pro” by playing and being like the rest of the pack. The definition of insanity is to keep doing the same thing and expecting a different result. So if you follow the crowd you will follow them into bankruptcy. You must be different and yet reasoned and rational. Being wild and reckless is not the answer nor is being timid. So how can you be different?

The biggest difference between the pros and the wannabes is iron discipline. Far too few gamblers have the self control element to make it as a professional gambler. Those who can learn to win by losing and who won’t go on tilt, who can withstand a “bad beat” and keep their emotions in check are those who stand a chance at going pro.
