Professional Poker is a Job

There are as many wannabe professional poker players as there are poker players. It’s every poker player’s dream to “go pro” and make a living from playing poker. With the online poker explosion that has taken place over the past few years there has never been a more opportune time to break into professional poker. The opportunities are truly unlimited. But so is the competition. EVERYONE has the same idea, to use the new avenue of online poker to become a professional poker player. The key, obviously, is to find a way to set yourself apart and break through into that elite group of those who can truly say that they are professional poker players.

First of all, to even have the most remote chance at success in professional poker, you must bring to the table the correct mindset. Professional poker is a business. It’s not an act, it’s not a gimmick, it’s a job. It’s very sobering to think of it that way but it’s the only way that you can approach it. Any other approach would mean certain doom. You must think of it as it is, a cold ruthless business, in order to maintain the discipline needed to survive, and perhaps later thrive, in the world of online poker.

Remember there is no poker school or college, just the school of the tables and the hard knocks that you will certainly have to earn and go through. There is no professional poker card to flash as Identification, just the money from your bankroll that should be growing if you are a successful professional poker player.
