On Friday, April 20, Caesars Palace will host the Jennifer Harman Charity Poker Tournament. The winner will be awarded a free seat into the 2007 World Series of Poker. Proceeds from a silent auction sponsored by Upper Deck will benefit the Nevada S.P.C.A. (Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) local no-kill animal shelter.
The mission of the Nevada S.P.C.A. no-kill shelter in Las Vegas is to provide comfort, food, and veterinary care to thousands of animals every year. Many of those animals thrive in environments without cages.
"This is a charity so close to my heart," said Harman. "The strides they've made at the Nevada S.P.C.A. no-kill shelter are unbelievable."
The tournament will be preceded by a special unveiling of the "World Series of Poker Gallery of Champions" inside the Caesars Palace poker tournament room. This unique collection of photographs features some of poker's top names including Doyle Brunson, TJ Cloutier, Jeff Madsen, Ted Forrest, Howard Lederer, Robert Williamson III, Jamie Gold, Annie Duke, Joe Hachem, Chris Moneymaker, David Williams, Phil Hellmuth, Scotty Nguyen, Chris Ferguson, Jennifer Harman, Men "The Master" Nguyen, Daniel Negreanu, and David "Devilfish" Ulliott -- all WSOP bracelet winners who will be participating in the charity event.
