World Poker Tour's mobile Texas Hold 'Em game designers will be patting
themselves on the back this week after being ranked as the number
one mobile poker title, and the fifth ranked overall for all mobile
game titles for revenue-generating mobile phone games.
According to the June market report by industry research firms Telephia
Inc. and mMetrics, World Poker Tour: Texas Hold 'Em, designed by Hands-On
Mobile is currently the top selling mobile poker brand.
Over 10 million hands of "WPT: Texas Hold'em" have been
played since the game's launch in March 2005, including more than
200 000 multiplayer hands played each week and more than 20 000 users
per day playing for 15 minutes or more.
"We are pleased to retain our number one market share position
in the highly competitive mobile poker category," said
Paul Baldwin, Hands-On Mobile vice president of marketing. "We
intend to maintain and expand our leadership position through consistent
and innovative marketing campaigns that drive sales with both the
core and casual mobile game consumer."
Baldwin revealed that mobile poker fans can look forward to another
WPT game from the company this fall with the release of "WPT:
Seven-Card Stud."
The WPT brand is being further supported by Hands-On Mobile through
TV sweepstakes during the WPT episodes on the Travel Channel, as well
as advertising campaigns through various media and co-marketing programs
with World Poker Tour Enterprises, Inc.
"After the success of our 'Shuffle up and Deal' promotion
with WPT, we jumped at the chance to work together again,"
said Hands-On Mobile's Baldwin. "The powerful reach of
TV combined with the excitement of the WPT Boot Camp text-to-win promotion
will solidify World Poker Tour's position as the top selling mobile
poker game. We look forward to expanding our relationship with WPT
Enterprises, as we prepare to launch our next product, "World
Poker Tour: 7 Card Stud", later this year."
