The previously announced parting of the ways between Betfair Poker
and software developer Cryptologic will take place by the end of this
(October) month according to a statement by Betfair management.
Betfair Poker will be re-launching on a new platform as part of a
plan to abandon Cryptologic poker software in favor of an upgraded
version of Pokerchamps proprietary software. Betfair bought Pokerchamps
for this purpose a year ago.
The migration of customers will combine the player base of Betfair
Poker with PokerChamps on a new and improved version of the downloadable
software of the latter. PokerChamps and Betfair Poker will remain
separate brands.
Betfair Poker players will keep their existing account credentials,
continue their brand association, and experience an improved user
interface. The updated poker software maintains the identity of Betfair
Poker but incorporates new features such as a selection of video content,
player profiles, player search and map, VIP club, and cash games for
any bankroll.
"Having our own poker software puts us in command of our own
destiny. It means we can react quickly to customer feedback and continue
to develop an innovative, community-focused product. We are confident
that we are laying the foundations of a market leading poker room,”
said Head of Poker Ben Fried.
The new version of the software was developed with input from real
players. This input placed major emphasis on simplicity and focus
on the game. Special care was taken during the design process to create
an approachable, intuitive and visually pleasing interface.
Migrating players will notice various changes which are the results
of Betfair adjusting to player comments.
New features include: Choice of educational video content, personalized
view for multi-tabling, remember folded cards, personal player information,
player profile, player search and map, and VIP club. The established
Betfair Poker features such as a safe, secure and fast payment system,
24/7 customer service, the forum and the Leaderboards remain.
With more than 100 000 registered players, and an average of over
25 000 active players per month, Betfairpoker.com is fast becoming
one of the busiest poker rooms in Europe. Unfortunately, due to the
legal climate in the United States, business from American players
will not be accepted.
