The acquisition of Ongame by Bwin had a consequence this week when
betting exchange and poker room BetonBet, citing conflict possibilities,
moved over to the Microgaming Poker Network.
The move to Microgaming allows BetOnBet players to take advantage
of one of the most aggressive tournament schedules on the Web - featuring
satellites to some of the best land based tournaments in the world,
as well as the guaranteed 24 hour action offered through access to
thousands of additional players from over 40 card rooms worldwide.
Since BetOnBet launched in August 2003, with its poker offering following
in November 2004, it has grown to become one of the most successful
gaming sites on the web. The move to Microgaming's poker network will
cause little or no disruption to players, allowing them to swiftly
take advantage of the benefits the network has to offer.
Stian Hornsletten, Managing Director BetOnBet Ltd says, "We
are very pleased to join the Microgaming poker network. The Microgaming
Poker network is growing rapidly and we believe this is a strategic
move for the future. We believe our customers will see the benefits
of this in the time to come. To join a network where all the operators
are playing by the same rules and get the releases at the same time
is something we are looking very much forward to."
Roger Raatgever, CEO Microgaming said: "We believe that
Microgaming can not only offer operators market leading software and
support, but also the independence that clearly BetOnBet felt they
could not receive following the acquisition of Ongame by BETandWIN.
This follows a number of recent additions to our rapidly expanding
poker network."
