The Game Show Network (GSN) will air a one-hour poker special "Annie Duke takes on the World" on Monday, May 1 from 9 to 10 PM. The show is hosted by poker pro Annie Duke and co-hosted by Regan Burns, a comedian and actor who also presents the game show Oblivious.
Besides giving insider information on how to play No Limit Texas Holdem, the main content of the show is a tournament between four amateur poker players. The winner of the tourney gets to play heads-up against Annie Duke herself.
Annie Duke is one of the world's best poker players. She made the final table of the 2000 World Series of Poker while she was nine months pregnant. In 2004, she won her first World Series of Poker bracelet in Omaha Hi/Lo. She also won the World Series of Poker Tournament of Champions in 2004, beating out some of the top names in poker including Doyle Brunson, Phil Hellmuth, and her brother Howard Lederer.
Annie Duke frequently plays in the "Big Game" at the Bellagio, and is also known from coaching celebrities Ben Affleck and Matt Damon on their poker game.
