With Party Poker's withdrawal from the U.S. market as a result of
the UIGEA, many now ex-Party Poker players may be wondering what happens
to the loyalty points they accrued whilst the company was still accepting
American business. This week the company clarified the situation in
emails to former players.
The email advised that on January 16 next year the company is to close
down the Party Poker Store, where PartyPoints can be used to purchase
all manner of gambling related goodies.
The online store offers many items available for purchase from as
little as 2 000 PartyPoints to the upper echelons of hundreds of thousands
of points. Items available range from jewelry, clothing, poker DVDs
and books, IPods and video games and PartyPoker logoed glassware.
These items won't be replaced; after an item sells out, PartyPoker
states it will be removed from the store immediately.
The company store offers American players an opportunity to turn their
loyalty points into purchases with a tangible value and use. After
January 16th, American players will have no disposal options for their
PartyPoints, so it may be worthwhile to see what the store has to
offer.
