Virgin Gaming has re-launched it's poker room, Virgin Poker, this week with a massive marketing campaign. Virgin Poker is powered by Boss Media software. The site was introduced earlier this year, but has now been re-launched after a complete redesign.

Virgin Poker enters the poker market relatively late, but it expects to catch up quickly because of the significant cross-marketing possibilities that exist with other Virgin companies. Players can earn Virgin air miles by playing at Virgin Poker and cash in loyalty points for other Virgin products. There are also plans to make a limited version of Virgin Poker available on it's trains and planes. "Virgin Poker will use the resources of sister companies throughout the Virgin group to add new value to our players' experience," said Simon Burridge, CEO of Virgin Games.

Virgin is also preparing an aggressive marketing campaign for "The Big Three" early 2006. Players can win entries into the three biggest real poker tournaments through a series of satellite tournaments.

Virgin Poker will focus on people that have never played poker before, by emphasizing the fun and social aspects of the game. Virgin's Simon Burridge commented: “Our message is clear; it’s not just about winning money, it’s about creating a fun, social environment where poker can be enjoyed."

Unfortunately US players will not be welcome on Virgin Poker for the time being.
