Kudos to Hollywood Poker.com, which this week showed that poker players have plenty of heart in a celebrity tournament that raised US $ 50 000 for charity.

It was a full house at the poker site's one year anniversary party held at the Montmartre Lounge in Hollywood, CA. Hollywood Poker's Vince Van Patten welcomed celebrity guests and other VIPs, which included a star studded roll of top movie and poker stars too numerous to itemize in this news report.

The event raised $50,000 for charity through online tournaments and a silent auction featuring items sponsored by generous donors. In addition, a $290,000 bid was placed for a 2005 Porsche Carerra GT, donated by Porsche North American's Troy Hanson, which will be entered into another silent auction being held at the Peterson Museum in Los Angeles.

During the event Van Patten presented checks to director of communication H.T. Linke for the American Red Cross and Dennis Quaid for his charity, International Hospital for Children to help hurricane relief efforts.

Beautiful models enhanced an already glittering evening, as HollywoodPoker.com unveiled the 2006 Hollywood Poker Calendar featuring the 12 winners from their Calendar Model Search. Selected from thousands of submissions and a thorough screening process based on overall beauty and uniqueness, the 12 winners were photographed by celebrity photographer John Russo.
