Gavin Smith wins World Poker Tour's Mirage Poker Showdown

Gavin Smith is the winner of the World Poker Tour's Mirage Poker Showdown held last week.

Smith won the championship event and a cash payout of more than $1.1 million by out-playing the tourney's 317 entrants.

This has been a good season for Smith, who also won a $25,000 entry into the final WPT Championship at Bellagio.

Las Vegas pro Ted Forrest finished second and collected $579,386.
