Excapsa Software, a poker software company headquartered in Toronto, Canada, has donated a poker software license to BenefitPoker.org. Benefit Poker is a non-profit organization that hosts poker tournaments to raise funds for various charities.
Benefit Poker offers charities a low cost and highly unique alternative for their fundraising initiatives. Over 80% of all money generated during tournaments is donated directly to the charities that organize the tournaments.
Michael Perrier, CEO of Benefit Poker, commented: "Many charities are faced with significant costs and risks when putting together fundraising efforts. [...] BenefitPoker.org provides an online venue for fundraising with little cost associated."
Benefit Poker is now a member of the Excapsa poker network, which has around 1.5 million active players to date. Jim Ryan, CEO of Excapsa, said: "We are proud to be able to include this site among our poker network and educate the online poker community about their many fundraising efforts. Excapsa has always been committed to giving back to our communities and have run many charity events for many causes."
The first charity tournament took place at Benefit Poker on November 29th in support of Dylan Hartung, a 7-year-old Australian boy who suffers from cancer.
