Starting today, twenty-five iPod minis will be given away as part of College Poker Championship’s™ search for the world’s best college No Limit Texas Hold’em poker player. The “Lucky Draw” contest starts today and ends April 30, with the drawing being held on May 3, 2005.
All registered students are eligible to participate and will receive a “ticket” for the Lucky Draw contest and students can still sign-up to register through www.collegepokerchampionship.com. Participants can increase their chances to win by referring friends to sign up and play. Every referral that registers for College Poker Championship earns the student an additional ticket for the Lucky Draw.
College Poker Championship is a free online tournament available to registered college and university students worldwide. Graduate school and community college students are also eligible. Online Super Satellites for CPC are held every Sunday at 4p.m. EST through May 8, 2005. Students can sign on anytime to play, learn and hone their skills for the Sunday tournaments. The online final will be played on Monday, May 22, 2005 at 4:00 p.m.
With just five weeks left in the tournament the competition is getting fierce between students for their share of $135,000 prize pool of scholarships and charitable donations. College Poker Championship gives away $500 in scholarships each week to the top students playing in the Super Satellites. The grand prize for the overall champion is a $41,000 scholarship, a $1,000 donation to the organization of their choice, and the right to the title of 2005 College Poker Champion.
