BetHoldem.com customer Thomas P. of Pennsylvania entered last week’s
“Beat The Mob” no limit Hold'em Poker tourney with one
objective and after pulling pocket queens in the final hand, his goal
was realized.
Thomas outlasted 397 other poker players in the PrimaPoker tournament
and took home more than the $1990 prize – but he left knowing
he had taken down the entire Hendon Mob, arguably the hottest professional
poker team in the world.
“I entered the tournament for the sole purpose of playing
against The Hendon Mob. After watching Barney Boatman play in the
World Series of Poker, I wanted to test my poker skills against him,”
said Thomas P. “I joined BetHoldem.com because of the
opportunity to compete in online tournaments versus some of poker’s
best. Winning the cash prize was a great, but beating Barney made
the victory that much sweeter.”
Throughout his tournament run Thomas played tight but aggressive whenever
he had a good hand. The turning point came when he went all-in with
pocket nines and was called by a player holding ace queen. In his
final hand, Thomas held pocket queens and was called on pocket threes,
giving him the tournament championship and credit for taking down
the entire Hendon Mob.
“We’re excited about Thomas’ accomplishment
and proud to tell the world that one of our own took down The Hendon
Mob,” said Mark Thompson, manager of the BetHoldem.com
poker room. “Beating the Mob shows everyone that Thomas
has the ability to beat the pros and who knows, maybe he’ll
be the next Internet player to capture the WSOP title.”
