The Hendon Mob, fresh from their stellar performance at the Five
Star World Poker Classic, are preparing for the final stop on the
2004 Prima Poker Tour: The World Series of Poker at Binion’s
Horseshoe, which runs through May 28, 2004.
The PrimaPoker.com-sponsored $1 million team of professional poker
players, are relaxed and ready to face what could be their stiffest
competition yet—sixteen amateur satellite winners from PrimaPoker.com.
In addition, an estimated 1,600 players will descend on Las Vegas
from around the world for a chance to win the final pot that could
go as high as three million dollars.
“We’re thrilled that such a diverse group of winners,
men and women, from Mississippi, Hawaii, Florida and Virginia, not
to mention our international players from Canada, England, Norway
and Sweden will all have a shot at biggest prize in poker history,”
said a spokesperson for PrimaPoker. “We’re dedicated
to sending more players to more tournaments than ever before, and
we wish all our players, amateur and professional, the best of luck.”
The Bracelet Events in the World Series of Poker began on April 21
and culminate in the “Main Event” running from May 22-28.
In between those events on May 16th at 6pm EST, PrimaPoker.com will
sponsor “Beat the Mob II,” a chance for players around
the world to go online and go head-to-head with The Hendon Mob, even
if they can’t be at the World Series of Poker.
The Mob is coming off a very solid finish in the Five Star World Poker
Classic. So soon after his first-place finish in the British Open,
Ross “Rocky” Boatman ranked 18th in the in the money field
of 50 players and walked away with $66,532.
Naturally, the Hendon Mob is ready to rumble at The Horseshoe.
“All the talk in Vegas is about how PrimaPoker.com has
changed the face of the sport with their sponsorship of The Hendon
Mob,” said Barny Boatman of the Hendon Mob. “We
look forward to playing with PrimaPoker's on-line qualifiers at the
World Series of Poker and to playing everyone who couldn’t make
it to Las Vegas in our ‘Beat The Mob’ challenge on May
16th. This year we’re going for gold.”
