Big money poker tournaments continue to come thick and fast, with
the latest announced by Check n Raise Poker.com which is busy launching
a competition called rather long-windedly “Quarter-of-a-Million-Dollar
Competition for Gold, Glory & Sweet, Sweet Cash”.
The competition is the first in what is planned to be an annual event
for the site. In one month a US$250,000 pool of cash and prizes will
be awarded to winning players entering the competition through the
site.
These first rounds are qualifiers and successful players will then
move on to a more advanced tournament. This part of the competition
is called the “Champions No-Limit Hold ‘Em Free-roll Tournament,
and the leading thirty players in each online session held will advance
on to this round. This will mean a maximum of four hundred and eighty
players competing with a prize pool worth US$100,000.
Prizes include cruises, holidays and gold bracelets....and entry into
next year’s World Series of Poker tournament to be held in Las
Vegas.
The competition is open to players of all levels, providing as it
does not only the opportunity to win cash or prizes, but a chance
for players to improve their game in a free to enter tournament. The
competition starts in September, and registration for the competition
is being accepted now.
